Will this work? Get a small piece of ribbed rubber floor mat, set it on the lever quadrant with the ribs parallel to the gas lever. Mark it underneath, cut it to the circular shape and glue it to the metal.
Or, cut a 2" length of 5/16 fuel hose, slit it down the side and place it over the gas lever.
Glue or tape it down between the lever and quadrant.
It might get you by till a new one turns up.
