Try cutting your fuel off at the tank with theengine running pretty well wide open. See if it runs better just as it runs out of fuel. If it does, you probably need to put a kit in the carburetor. I think the adjustment you mentioned is the idle mixture, which wouldhave no effect on the amount of fuel going into the engine as you describe. Good luck.
