The others' advice is right on - a card reader is the way to go. With the reader you take the memory card out of the camera and stick it in the reader. The card then looks just like another hard drive on your computer. You simply click and drag to download photo files. Download time depends number/size of the images and the speed of the connection, but it's typically a matter of a few seconds for an entire card full. A memory card reader can be purchased for about $20. Make sure you get the right one for your camera's card type - I think your Polaroid uses Smart Media. Also the reader must have the right port connection for your computer, either USB or serial (serial if your computer is older and doesn't have a USB port).
