PLEASE, DON'T TAKE MY WORD FOR IT, but I could swear that I read years ago that potatoes would not sprout if stored with an apple. Ratio of potatoes to apples was not said. I think they were talking one apple per sack of potatoes. As they say, your mileage may vary.......
