Your cheapest and safest option is to hire an inseminator to do the job. Check with your vet if you don't know which studs have reps in the area- he would know who is available. Then all you need is to detect heat and have some animal restraint available- stanchion, headlock, gates, etc. Nothing to buy. Probably about $10 per service. To do your own- three days of schooling to learn how, buy a tank and breeding kit, etc. runs hundreds of dollars. Did my own 70 cow dairy for 20+ years, but no way you can justify that expense on a few head. Also- now with synchronizing drugs, you could treat all in one day and breed a week later. Simpler than heat detection.
