I've never been very impressed with the White 4wd tractors. They have the small Cat V-8 engine, which never impressed me much either. They use their own drive train parts, rear ends, etc. They are not maintenance friendly. I personally would look for a Versatile or Steiger. Most of these used Eaton axles/differentials, outboard planetaries, Cummins or bigger Cat engines. Parts are cheaper, they're more reliable, and easier to work on. I've seen older 700 versatiles sell for $3000.
