You cannot jump start the newer engines. The reason why is because you introduce too many volts to the regulator and the electrical system.

Contact Briggs&Stratton, they will tell you the samething.

****Take the battery out of the tractor****

Charge it. Check the volts.

Reinstall the battery.

Yes, most of the tractors will require that you are seated on the seat. A safety feature! Parking Brake On?

Still doesnt start? Have your local dealer inspect the engine. Because you probably fried the regulator trying to jump start it.
