Super A temp Guage

I have a super A that has a temp guage on it but it is not hooked up.The line is wrapped around the guage and sending unit is on the line. My question is where in the wide world of tractors does the sending unit go .Have looked at the block and the head and cannot see any place to hook it up.Have had friends who are not as blind as me look till we're blue in the face and they can't see it either. Any info would be greatly appreciated.Thanks for help.
