I pick up steel from all kinds of places, people's garbage, garage sales, scrapyards, etc. If I see something I "might" be able to use someday and it's cheap or free, I take it. I'm getting a pretty good inventory! A new place I just discovered; my local Massey-Ferguson dealer. All his new M-Fs come in with steel rather than wooden crates. The small tractors use light stuff and the big tractors use real nice heavy stuff. Some angle, some channel and some square tubing. All brand new steel; just need to grind off the welds and cut to the length you need.
