Plaster of paris will work also.
Works really good on Magpies in my area. also get yourself a 55 gal. plastic barrel cut a 12 to 16 inch hole in the top. Put some feed in it, lean a board against the barrel so the rats can get up on the top, they will jump inside and will not beable to get back out. Then you can dispose of them at your will by what ever method you want.. Happy hunting
