White smoke is water. After you run it at a high rpm for awhile, check the oil on the dipstick. Is it frothy? if so, you have water in your oil. My first thoughts is it is a bad head gasket, as those go pretty commonly on our 8N's. Compression check of 115 - was that dry or wet? If it was dry - you don't need rings. If the wet reading was more than say 15% or so of the dry reading, it is a good possibility a ring job is close at hand.
