Personally i just can't see someone taking something like $5000 in cash out of a bank. The bank teller would advise the person to use a certified check, good as cash for the person it is payable to. I could see cash for something like $2000 or less, but I would be a little suspicious is someone came to buy my tractor with $10000 in cash in a breifcase.
