I bought a Kubota B275(21HP) in 2000 after looking at it and the JD's. It was about $1500 cheaper and came with mid PTO standard. It has performed flawlessly ever since. Be sure to get the hydrostat drive and 4x4. The hydro will work circles around a stick shift and the 4x4 turns it from a lawn mower into a real tractor and will amaze you at what it can do.
I did not like the Yanmars offered since all were gray market tractors and hydrostat were not available. The tires on them were ag type with tread about 4" deep. You can inagine what that would do to a yard after a little shower. Also, no ROPS protection on gray market tractors. That may not sound like a big deal but I lost a good friend in a flipover with no ROPS. It matters to me now...
