For twenty years I have "pickled" the 440 Chryslers in my boat by slowly pouring Marvel Mystery Oil down the carb until they choke out. REMEMBER TO POUR IT SLOWLY OR YOU CAN HYDRO LOCK IT! It has worked well for me. They belch a cloud of blue smoke when you crank it in the Spring, but there is no corrosion or stuck rings. Rawleigh

Product Review: Lead Substitutes - by Mike Schordine. Lead was oriinally added to gasoline as an upper cylinder lubricant. It lubes the valves and seats. If you rebuild the motor, you could use hardened seats and valves, and unleaded fuel. But if your old tractor runs good, a simple lead substitute added to the gas is a perfectly reasonable solution.
