Gotta jump in here. There's no "definitive" proof of a causal link between BSE (Mad Cow) and CJD (human variant), but then again, it's only "strongly believed" that cigarettes cause cancer... Think what you want, (and I still eat beef) but BSE is an issue, and yes, maybe it's only recently been recognized, but around forever. However, as it takes years to actually get "sick" you can't take any chances. Once you get it, you got it...
