Some references say that the V series (including V, VO, VI, VC) is totally different from the VA's (lots of those around) but in fact they do share some common parts. The tinwork (other than the rear fenders) are exclusive to the V series tractors and most of the driveline/gearing/housings from the clutch housing back. The engine is a Continental flathead which were very common being used in a lot of agricultural and industrial applications (like Lincoln welders) so parts are easy to come by for those. Comapared to the VA series though, only about 15000 V series were made (including VC, etc.) while 10 X's that many VA's were made. For $300 I'd say go for it if the engine looks useable and the tinwork is decent. The Spitdorf magneto's on early V series tractors were quite weak.
