In the family we've had both Mantis, and Troy Bilt. The two strokers were not very reliable, but the last one, a Troy Bilt (pre the MTD buyout) has the Honda 4 stroke engine and has run flawlessly for 3 seasons now. The biggest thing we've done to help our tillers and lawn equipment that don't run much is to run stabilized gas in them ALL the time so it never varnishes up. The gas you buy now is (horse manure).
