Sears has gotten fat & lazy, now that they have a following for their popular batteries. I recall reading that the manufacturer(Johnson?) was also offering 'about' identical batteries to other auto supply vendors. Sears now has these built-in charges, when your battery fails, which were not assessed a few years ago. Free installation is history, plus testing your pro-rated dead battery, (dead is not dead, without a service charge:dead). Not much advantage, with weaker warrantees. You can carry a battery out of many stores, with a similar replacement policy, for less than Sears. I have an 8 year old Motorcraft, check the water, start about six times a day, replaced the starter. Ran several Diehards, 10-20 years ago. They don't welcome my business, with back-charges.
