You won't notice much difference if you hava a fairly high HP tractor...but if you have a low HP tractor, dull blades, and the stuff you're mowing gets thick and tough (like after August when it turns to wood)...you'll start getting skips or the engine will want to bog down and quit with a full swath. Usually cutting it isn't the problem, getting it away from under the mower is. If the mower is set about an inch higher in the back...it helps a bunch. If you have a hayside mower that you can unbolt and remove one whole side...thats as good as it will get without moving over and taking a partial swath. Keeping the blades sharp and keeping the rpm up in the thick stuff will help if you know there isn't an old disc or rock hidden in there...sometimes the reason it's thick is the last owner didn't mow it there cause he knew there was something there that you had to mow around. And no, I didn't hit something...but run one side of the tractor in a four foot ditch that I didn't see in that tall thick stuff. The next time I came upon that situation, I slowed down and eased up there...and sure enough...there was a six foot deep ditch hidden in those horse weeds (my Waterloo). Best get off and look if in doubt. Fred OH

He owned a small sawmill for sawing "baccer" sticks. The Super A was the powerplant. When I was old enough (7 or 8), I would get up early and be dressed to
