??? Removing steering wheel...

I have a Farmall 560 that has a really worn out (badly damaged) steering wheel. I have located a steering wheel from a IH315 combine that is in great shape (that is the steering wheel is in great shape, the combine is scraped), and it appears to me that the steering wheel is the same one. Is there a way to remove the Good steering wheel from it's post without damaging it? It has a hard plastic insert covering the center nut and I want to remove this cover without damaging or breaking the cover or the wheel. Any suggestions would be appreciated!
