VAC paint question rim question

Hi all--
My first question has to do with paint on my 1948 VAC. I am using the Flambeau Red color and it has come out very orange. After looking at numerous other VAC projects, I am seeing multiple variations, anywhere from a reddish-brown to almost Allis Orange. My mother is about ready to strangle me, saying that I have a Case tractor with Allis paint. (Her 1947 VAC is next up for restoration) Any advice on this?
#2. Which way do the rear rims go? Smooth hump side out or smooth hump side in? I have seen both and the before pics I have of mine show the hump in. Same way with my mothers 1947. I have seen pics of other restorations that have the hump out. Something to do with the wheel weights? A guess there. Any help here?
