In the late 40's or early 50's my mother bought a "Thor" brand washer which was supposed to be convertible between a dishwasher and a clothes washing machine, don't think that idea ever went over too well,but it had a fluid balincing setup of some sorts, and we kids used to try everything we could think of to throw it off balance,especially piling all the clothes to one side if it before we put it on the manual spin cycle and it could take all we threw at it and keep on going. Wife has flowers in the dishwasher tub now.
