You might be alright, if you're just doing a small garden, but leave it alone, if you're planning on doing much work with it. I broke dozens of tines, and then melted the gearbox, in less than 10 acres. (Granted it was hard clay ground) I have a Howard Rotovator now. It took the same piece of ground, in stride, and has done HUNDREDS of acres since. My dad had one for 30+ years. When he sold it, it was still in fine shape.
I guess this is one of those cases where you get what you pay for. Cheap gets you cheap. JMHO, John
