Marine batteries seem to be half way between a deep cycle and a regular Auto battery. Supposedly they are a bit more vibration resistant too. However the marine batteries are not designed to put out the big cranking amps a tractor might need. I blew a perfectly good marine battery using it to start a pickup. I would recommend a good quality automotive or tractor type of battery. Some people like the spiral wound (expensive) batteries. I have not tried them though.
