My dad chipped his with the Diablo and is very happy with the performance. Superchips sells a programmer that allows you to program 3 levels of performance and would allow you reprogram for difference needs. Personally I feel the best way to go if you have the money is the Gale Banks system. About $2500 gets you updated exhaust, turbo, intercooler, transmission chip, etc and you get a 105 +- gain in HP. Chipping a moter will increase exhaust temps exspecially under load so you can only increase so much without doing other things.
