The energy usage in kwh can be figured by multiplying the power rating of the heater by the time of operation. For example, 800 watt is 0.800 kw, so if this 0.800 kw heater were "on" for 2.0 hours it would use 1.6 kwh. I don't know what your electric rates are, but it seems that it would take a while for the savings to pay for a timer purchase. I have always just plugged my heater in an hour or so in advance of starting and it has worked so far.
