Yep, that about answers the questions. The question I worded was somewhat different from the original. So yes, in reality I do understand why velocity is important. In theory though, I don't follow. Mind, I did assume the only force acting on the bullet to be gravity. So if that were true, then it should decelerate at the same rate as it accelerates. I may well be wrong in that assumption though. I guess I'll have to get the old books out. Been an interesting discussion though. Take care. Rod
