International checks take longer to clear:
Sometimes folks, or even your bank, doesn't
wait long enough: If they are really fancy, they will take out a 'real'
check & create a fake for you. When the bank
calls, sure there is such a check, and you get
your money. But, turns out yours is the fake
copy, and the bank will want your money back
