Hi, Folks.
Unless I miss my guess there is an example of misrepresentation in the photo ads right here on YT.

Late Cat D2, posted 11-2-03. No serial number given. The machine in the photo has the fuel tank on the left fender. To the best of my knowledge, all the later models had the seat tank set-up.

I am not an expert on dates of manufacture of the various Cat models. Please correct me if I am wrong.
