When the internet made it possible to see a tractor and buy it from afar, I bit once...... the tractor I bought and paid for that "ran good" was stuck when I got there to take it home. I got my money back under protest but the seller would have rather had his a55 than my money and I was just before tearing his a55 off. Well, I made the mistake ONCE but it won't happen again ever. If I cannot see it, run it and drive it, I aint even gonna consider making an offer. I can gamble in Shreveport if I want but I don't. I sure aint gonna gamble on a 50 year old machine that I know nothing about its past maintenence and treatment. BUYER BEWARE is an understatement. Sure I look in the classifieds to see what is selling, what price asked etc but I aint buying. This guy may be a crook but he is fishing in a pond where there seems to be many who may buy from across the country sight unseen. the odds are in his favor. Wise up and stop letting these guys take make money. If it looks too good to be true..............IT IS.

On another note the guys that try to make big bucks on parts are equally disgusting. I ran a want ad for a part a year ago and I had many replies from guys that had the part for outrageous prices, no kidding 200-400 dollars. I got lucky however. A guy in KS (an individual) emailed me that he had scrapped his tractor and he offered me this part for 20 bucks and he was willing to mail it and trusted me to pay him. He mailed it and it was perfect, I couldn't wait to get the money order mailed. He was happy and I was happy.

You guys out there trying to make a living on selling tractors by deception and you guys out there scalping parts because you think someone needs it bad enough are pigs. You are trying to ruin a good hobby, at the very least making it hard for the common person to maintain his hobby or tractor.

Today's Featured Article - Field Modifications (Sins of the Farmer) - by Staff. Picture a new Chevrolet driving down the street without it's grill, right fender and trunk lid. Imagine a crude hole made in the hood to accommodate a new taller air cleaner, the fender wells cut away to make way for larger tires, and half of a sliding glass door used to replace the windshield. Top that off with an old set of '36 Ford headlight shells bolted to the hood. Pretty unlikely for a car... but for a tractor, this is pretty normal. It seems that more often than not they a ...
