When I was still working at the GM dealership, we bought a machine from BG that would flush out the cooling system and would "reconstitute" the anti-freeze which, from what I could figure out was just filtering it out down to one micron(I think) after going through four other filters and then we had two different additives to add to the auntfreeze to adjust the PH levels. Usually ended up adding both 12 oz. bottles and it ended up pretty good and the electrolosis was taken care of. Basically it seemed to be a good way for the dealership to make some more money. I was happy because we were'nt dumping old antifreeze down the drain(yes, it does happen almost everywhere) and we were taking care of the antifreeze. IMHO, as long as the electrolosis is taken care of and the freeze point is low enough and the system is clean I don't care what the antifreeze looks like, at least it isn't being dumped down the drain.
