There are many brands of diesel fuel conditioner available out there. Many claim to clean injectors and remove carbon, and others are made to prevent gelling in below freezing operating conditions. Check the price on these against a quart of ATF!! Truckers would occasionaly add one quart per 50 gallon saddle tank for a cheap cleanup of the fuel systems. ATF is a high detergent type and does a pretty good job on an older high mileage unit. With the newer diesel fuel systems out there it is not as critical as before.
