You shouldn't run oil, which has been formulated only for gasoline engines, in a diesel. The other way around is perfectly acceptable & okay.

If fact, your thinking is right on target because you are actually using better oil in the H than it really needs.

As far as what brand name to use; Rotella, Texaco, Co-Op, Penns or whatever, it really doesn't matter. It doesn't make 6 eggs worth of difference one way or the other.

Contary to what some will say, I contend that this "brand thing" is pure hogwash. Engines are iron and have no preferences; the choice of what brand to use is purely a human emotional 'favorite'. :>)
