Well, stock in the field the 4020 would allways be able to handle 1 16" bottom more easily, I know this from personal experiance. With the engine change and considering the 4020 is deisel and the 656 is gas it's probably a close match hp wise. When you start throwing in things like weight and weight distribution, tires, etc your getting into a twilight zone / coffee shop area of debate. The are both great tractors though.
