I sorta go along with RJ-AZ here. I ran my own shop reconditioning cars for 20 years. Was a sideline thing but consumed about 40 hours a week and I stayed busy. Basically charged 1/2 the going rate at the big shops but had a price list for the more exacting jobs like the clutch job.At the top of my price sheet was. OIL CHANGE - $50.00 which cut down on customer saying to change the oil while you are at it as they walk out the door. Of course there is always the family,friends,young folks, prefered customers and the like that you have to give special considerations for and only you can decide how to do that.
