You say you have switched the plugs and wires from one cylinder to another and the plugs and wires work o.k. on all cylinders except #4.
Have you cranked the engine over with #4 spark plug connected to the proper wire, but not screwed into the engine?
If you do not observe any spark that way, then I think the problem could very well be the distributor cap.
If you DO see a spark, then the problem is more than likely a stuck open intake or exhaust valve.
