Gary-Miss has it right. That plug on top of the transmission is where you add oil to the transmission. The PTO shares oil with the transmission, but I always put a little directly in it so it doesn't start out with none at all. If I were you, I would check the oil, before you add any, for moisture. If it is milky colored, I would drain it and replace it entirely. It doesn't need a lot, something like 5 or 6 quarts is what comes to mind here, but check the level plug as you fill, my B takes about 1/2 quart less than the manual calls for. I use 90 wt or 80w-140 gear oil in my B for transmission and final drives.
