I've been railroading for 13 years and never get used to the feeling of someone trying to beat me to the crossing. Single adult in a vehicle,well, I can live with the heartburn. But when it's a mini van and you see two little faces in the back side window looking at you nearly smash into them with thousands of tons, that's a different story. Try to beat me with kids in the car or if your driving a truck with propane or gas I WILL report you. An old engineer told me one time after a near miss, "don't they realize, in the case of a tie I still win?" My prayers go out to the family's and crew. Dan.
