One of the things that helped free up my 420 was hot water. I took the hoses off the radiator and plumbed an old 20# propane tank on it's side into the bottom of the block, then filled the tank and engine to the top with water. I put heat to the bottom side of the tank and got the water boiling. I used a gas burner, but you could use wood, charcoal, or a torch. Heat and let it cool a few times.
