Good ones still fetch a nice price here. They are one of Ford's more successful tractor models. A friend of mine bought one new in 1973. He was just getting started farming. As soon as he got it, he rented more ground and found the 5000 to be a bit smaller than he needed. He is one of these guys that can do wonders with a wrench. He put a turbocharger on the 5000, and jacked the HP up to near 100. He ran it that way for several years. He has since "de-tuned" it back to it's original state. I saw him raking hay with it yesterday. Good old tractor. If it's not a "classic" yet, it will be someday soon. John
