billy, Rob is correct, you can convert it to a 12 volt system, Delco does make a 12 volt starter for them. You can hook your two existing batteries in parallel (pos. to pos., neg. to neg.). You will need to keep the wire that comes from the alternator and hooks to the battery. You could also hook this wire to the solenoid on the starter. You can get rid of the black box and all that other wiring.
