"This a post replete with misinformation. There is no current land setaside program which pays farmers not to plant a crop, nor has there been one for many years". Actually the CRP program is alive and well. I do not beleive you can sign up NEW acreage at this time but there are 100s of thousands of acres currently in the program. Anybody planting set aside acres is cheating the government and the taxpayers and deserves a little jail time.
