I found that the ripper would indeed dig a shallow trench
that I could bury PVC into, but it wouldn't expel the dirt
from the trench. So, you have to follow up the tractor work
with manual labor. Not acceptable to me. I have opted
ever since to rent a real trencher and do it right.

Also, the trench was barely enough to bury the pvc. This
means after a few years, some of the pvc is no longer
buried. If not put under enough soil, the cycles of wet and
dry will allow pvc with air inside to rise up to the surface.
