N series Fords will get you going, but will have you wanting to trade soon as well. Stay away from obsolete brands. I personally prefer MF and that is what you will have to do, find your preference. 135s are, in my mind, the best. They are pricey though. A MF35 is not a bad way to go.
Live power is great, if you don't get one with it, put an overide clutch on the PTO.
Think seriously about power steering.
Remember, you generally pay for what you get, so don't expect to spend $2500 and never have to work on it.
