Loaders for Vintage Tractors

I'm currently looking at purchasing a vintage tractor from the 1940-50s era, preferrably one with a loader. From what I've seen, most tractors of this era, i.e., Farmalls, Fords (8N, 9N, 2N), John Deere, and Massey Harris, among others, came without loaders. Were loaders optional add-ons for vintage tractors of this era or were they aftermarket accessories that were either available from different manufacturers or custom built by a tractors owner. Appreciate any clarification. Thanks...
