At this point I would have to say it isnt a scam. The guy has nothing to gain by sending you MO's for exactly what you asked for. The buying scam going on out there is- You advertise an item(say$500) someone offers to buy it from you, they have a friend or business associate in your area that owes them money(say $3500, the so called associate will give you a cashier's check for $3500, he wants you to cash the check RIGHT AWAY, keep your $500 plus 500 for all your trouble and wire him the rest. He will make arrangements later. In the mean time, you have the feds knocking on your door wanting to know why you cashed a fake certified cashier's check. Apparently this gent isnt asking for anything extra. I would take the advise of the others and have them checked out by the bank first. And tell them the whole story,too,with your suspicions so they dont call the cops on you. Good luck!!!!!
