Problem is that you get about the same per centage of gas, Diesel, or motor oil from each and every barrel of crude -- no matter what the market demands, the ratio of supply stays the same. Market doesn't need as much motor oil as it does gas or Diesel. So until some genius figures out how to change the form or numbers of the various molecules in that crude, you're always gonna get more supply of some stuff and less of other stuff than the market demands.
