The primary lesson that you should have learned here is NOT to let your wife take a vehicle in for repair. If you can't take it in, get some other guy to take it in. Even the parts stores quoted my daughter higher prices for a part than when I called 10 minutes late and asked for a quote on the same part. I've taken cars in for repairs for my wife's friends and gotten the job done for 1/3-1/2 what they would have charged her. Take advantage of your wife's talents in some other areas and let her do that. Can she cook?
