To the best of my knowledge, which is NOT encyclopaedic, there was only ever ONE pony motor fitted to Cat Diesels --- Cat. If the manual you have has no mention of a pony motor, you need one that does have the pony motor. E-bay, ACMOC (See link below.) or your friendly local Cat. dealer.

I think direct electric start was an option way back then but they were like hen's teeth and rocking horse manure. EVERYBODY bought the pony motor start machines.
