It can't hurt to try. I don't know what it costs to list a tractor. It cost me about $40 to list a car (about the same as I'd pay the local auto trader rag). You get a nationwide exposure. That can be especially nice if the tractor you're selling doesn't have much local appeal. Some tractors are just not as popular in some parts of the country as other parts.

Just exercise caution with the usual stuff. Make sure the payment is good before you let go of the tractor. Don't let anyone talk you into anything that doesn't feel comfortable. Make it clear in the auction that the buyer is responsible for transportation. Give a deadline for final payment. Be clear in your payment instructions as to what's acceptable and not acceptable.

And above all else, make sure you take some clear pictures of all sides of the tractor. Watch the lighting and don't shoot into the sun...it just makes the details of the tractor impossible to see. Take close-ups of the neet features of your tractor. Include a thorough description of the tractor, its age, serial number, etc....all the things you'd want to know if you were looking to buy one.
